For LVRH, hospitality is not just about welcoming guests, but also about caring for the places where our properties are located, their history, and the cultural value that makes these areas unique.
It is with this spirit that we chose to participate in the ‘Arte Fuori dal Museo’ project, which gives new life to works currently kept in museum storage, returning them to the community through collaboration between institutions and private entities.
The initiative is closely tied to the Roman roots of the Roscioli family and the identity of the Group: LVRH hospitality was born here, in the heart of Rome, with the opening of the Best Western Plus Hotel Universo in 1933—the Group’s first property in the Capital and, over time, a symbol of Italian hospitality and a lasting presence in the city.
Right in this historic location, where the family’s story intertwines with that of the city, the Portrait of Domitia Lucilla, mother of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, is on display: a 2nd-century AD work restored with our contribution and now visible to guests and citizens alike. A gesture that goes beyond the stay experience, telling the story of Rome, culture, time, and shared value.
Supporting projects like ‘Arte Fuori dal Museo’ means making the Best Western Plus Hotel Universo a living place, able to proudly celebrate Roman heritage and Italian cultural treasures.
For LVRH, to preserve is also to share.
